Move first, caffeine later
WHAT
Moving the body in the morning is a great way to start the day off with a positive mindset. No fancy equipment is required, just your body, the edge of your bed or chair, and an open mind.
WHY
Movement is medicine, and the benefits of moving the body daily, in multiple ways, are numerous, both physically and mentally. A strong flexible body can protect us from illness, injury, ensure we age well, ward off or help treat muscle aches and pains, and directly impact mental health. Starting the day off with a little movement, especially of the major joints and the spine, can help ease out any kinks, knots, or stiffness, that has occurred overnight.
HOW
Follow the link below for your own save and print morning movement sequence. Notice how the body feels before, during, and after the flowing movements. Breathe deeply and fully, go slow, and notice each shape the body makes. Maybe you could challenge yourself to complete this sequence every morning for a week. What differences have occurred?
